The travelogue authors of the Qajar period were mostly prominent European scientists and scholars of their time who delved deeply into the history of Iranian literature,Iranian languages, dialects, accents, the Persian scripts, libraries, artist and scientific centers,as well as the cultural and social status of Iran, and thus provided invaluable information in their travelogues. Among these observations are explanations of the status of languages and dialects spoken during the Qajar period. The subsequent findings show that:Writers discussed the prominent languages, dialects, and accents spoken during the Qajar period in different regions of Iran and took note of which languages and dialects had a pure Persian accent versus the ones that did not.The ear-pleasing and ear-splitting nature of these dialects in different regions was also mentioned,in addition to pointing out the dialects that had ancient roots and a rich history.Based on these reports,Persian language was spoken merely against the backdrop of the Qajar court, with Turkish taking center stage as the most prominent language spoken at court.Persian became the primary language spoken at court and continued to be the prominent language spoken at court even after his reign.Turkish was the second most spoken language during this period, with the Mazandarani dialect being the most powerful in terms of attracting migrant speakers.
