Financial markets as a crossroads of financial and economic exchanges of companies play an important role in the financial sector and the prosperity of economic activities. The aim of this study was to compare the impact of e-commerce and macroeconomic indicators on the performance of financial markets in selected developing and developed countries. The statistical population in the present study is developing and developed countries in the period 2002 to 2051. Sampling performed in such a way those countries whose statistical data were complete in the period under study selected as a statistical sample. Therefore, selected developing and developed countries include 55 developing countries and 22 developed countries. Data analysis performed by Markov switching model. The results of estimating regression models for developing countries showed that e-commerce, tax revenues, institutional factors and human capital in the boom regime have a positive effect on the performance of financial markets; but in a recession, the impact of these variables (excluding human capital) on the performance of financial markets is negative. Inflation rates in both regimes also have a negative impact on the performance of financial markets. Estimation of models for developed countries also showed that in both regimes, ecommerce, tax revenues, institutional factors and human capital have a positive effect on the performance of financial markets and inflation has a negative effect on the performance of financial markets. This result shows that the state of recession and prosperity and its fluctuations in developing countries are much more than developed countries; So that the performance of financial markets in these two regimes is different for developing countries. Therefore, in general, the prosperity and recession regime in developing countries has much different effects on financial markets than developed countries.
