Marcel Ayme (1928-1955), like Jean de la Fontaine, is an ironic moralist. As such, he mobilizes the symbolic narrative and the fantastic realism in the service of a naughty observation of the consequence of the First World War given that anomie is a notion that highlights the absence of norms and rules in a society. The Wall-Pass contains ten short stories characterized by the sudden presence of marvelous elements in the everyday universe. By applying the socio-critical approach proposed by Zima, we tried to provide a panorama of the phenomenon of anomie. The aim of the study was to investigate three research questions: 1) How can the fantastic realism of things and men be regarded as an anomic phenomenon in this anarchic world? 2) What role does fantastic realism play in this anarchic world? And 3) Why is the man of the twentieth century presented as a being exposed to alienation? The anomy of time is marked not only by the economic and social crisis but also by the spectacle of degraded values. With Ayme, fantastic realism becomes a dimension of reality. Most of the time, when he takes us into the imaginary world, he does not forgethis concerns as a man faced with a society that disappoints him. All ten short stories cause amazement, surprise, the evil destiny of man caused by poverty, and war. Its language is rich and full of different registers, slang, as well as sustained and phonetically Frenchized English.
