Art and Economy; Manifestations of Future Collective Pride H. Iftikhar Husain Arif Art and culture of a country or a region are the outward manifestations of the collective pride and recognition of its people built up by both physical and mental forces over centuries. This collective pride is considered as the backbone of a society. To maintain its individuality in this ever decreasing global village, the strength of the enormous human resources needs to be stimulated and developed as a potential force that not only upholds and protects the art, culture and traditions of this region but also plays an active role in developing, preserving and promoting the same with pride and fortitude. Towards this aim, ECO Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the Iranian Scientific Society of Artistic Researches, co-organized the "1st National Conference on Iran's Economy of Arts & Culture".
