جایگاه و تاثیر سلسله مراتبی شهرهای کوچک در شبکه شهری منطقه میتواند موجب توزیع متعادل جمعیت و جلوگیری از تمرکز آن گردد. شهرهای کوچک باعث ایجاد زمینههای مختلف اقتصادی و اجتماعی در حوزه محلی شده و به تبع آن کاهش مهاجرتها و تغییر جهت آنها از نواحی و کانونهای شهری بزرگتر را در پی خواهد داشت. همچنین این شهرها با ایفای نقش بازار مرکزی حوزه نفوذ روستایی، ضمن ارائه خدمات؛ محرک مهمی در تقویت و استحکام اقتصادی نواحی روستایی پیرامون قلمداد میشوند. هدف این مقاله بررسی عملکرد شهرهای کوچک در توسعه فضایی استان آذربایجان شرقی است. روش تحقیق توصیفی تحلیلی بوده و برای بررسی نقش شهرها از مدلهای کمی استفاده شده است. مدلهای جمعیتی نشان میدهد که شهرهای کوچک استان از توان کششپذیری جمعیتی برخوردار بوده است. همچنین مدلهای اقتصادی حاکی از آن است که در بیشتر این شهرها بخش خدمات بیشترین میزان اشتغال را به خود اختصاص داده است. شهرهای کوچک استان در طی دوره 85ـ 1375 در بخش صنعت رشد نسبتا بالایی را نشان میدهند. مدلهایی چون ضریب آنتروپی، تغییر سهم حکایت از آن دارد که بدون احتساب شهرهای کوچک روند تعادل افزایش یافته و با احتساب آنها این عدم تعادل به سوی متعادل شدن سوق پیدا میکند.
Hierarchical status and impact of small towns in the urban network may result in a balanced distribution of population and preventing its concentrating. Small towns provide various opportunity for economic and social development in the area which consequently reduces the migration and change the destination of the migrants from larger urban centers. Also, these cities play a role of the central market for rural hinterlands, while providing services for the rural area, they are considered as an important stimulus in promoting economic growth of the surrounding rural areas. The aim of this article is to study the performance of small towns in spatial development of East Azarbaijan Province. The research method is descriptive and analytical and quantitative models have been used to study the role of small towns. Population models show that small towns of the province have capacities for population elasticity. Also, economic models suggest that in most towns, service sector is the high proportion of the total labor. In small towns of the province the industry sector has experienced growth in the number of labor in 1375-85 period.
