Functional movement screening (FMS( is a movement assessment method that can help in identifying risk factors and detecting injuries. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare the performance of students in classes of a primary school in the screening test of functional movement. In this study, 972 elementary students (618 girls and 354 boys) including 191 first-grade, 223 second-grade, 152 third-grade, 134 fourth-grade, 134 fifth-grade students, and 138 sixth-grade students attended this study. Seven deep squat tests, hurdle step, in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, swimming and rotary stability were performed as screening tests of functional movement. The data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance, chi-squared and multivariate regression tests at the level of p The results of the research showed that the highest mean score of FMS was recorded by sixth-grade female students and the lowest were recorded by girls of the first grade. There was a significant difference in the mean FMS score between girls and boys in different grades (pIt can be concluded from the findings of this research that the interaction between two factors namely class and gender is effective on the mean score of FMS. In other words, gender affects overall FMS score from the first to the last grade.
