فاصله در ارتباطات انسانی همواره حدود خاصی دارد که در فرهنگهای مختلف و گونههای ارتباطگران بر حسب موقعیت و جنسیت و امثال آن دارای پیامهای خاصی است. از آنجا که رسالت فقه هنجارگذاری در کنشهای درونفردی و میانفردی و اجتماعی و خلاصه هر نوع ارتباط انسانی با خود و خدا و دیگر انسانها و موجودات است، تحلیل حکم فقهی فاصله ارتباطی در ارتباطات انسانی نیز از مباحث مهم این حوزه خواهد بود. پژوهه فرارو به یک مبحث خاص از این حوزه یعنی چیستی حکم فقهی فاصله اجتماعی در آغاز ارتباطات انسانی پرداخته و با روش تحلیل اجتهادی به این نتایج دست یافته است: اصل در فاصله میان مؤمنان در آغاز ارتباط، استحباب برقراری ارتباط در فاصله صمیمانه ونزدیک وشخصی بر پایۀ لمس مؤمنانه است اما این استحباب در شش مورد به حرمت تبدیل شده است: تصاعد بوی بد آزارنده از تن ولباس، وجود بیماری مسری در یکی از طرفین ارتباطگر، ارتباط میان دو نامحرم، نجوا در جمع، واردشدن در حریم خصوصی مکانی دو ارتباطگر دیگر.
