maslow, as one of the thinkers of humanistic psychology, and mulla sadra, as one of the greatest thinkers in the history of islamic philosophy, have expressed various ideas about what a human being is. considering that both thinkers have paid special attention to explaining the characteristics, the prerequisites for human perfection, the process of human perfection and the characteristics of a perfect human being, comparing the anthropological foundations of these two thinkers can have valuable results in this field. inherent dignity, free will, the ability to move towards perfection, having nature, accepting spiritual experiences and not being limited in the process of human perfection are some of the common foundations of these two thinkers. but these two thinkers offer different interpretations of these foundations. also, the views of these two thinkers are different regarding the centrality of god in human life, existential dimensions, basic needs, stages of human development, the ultimate perfection of man, and the characteristics of a perfect human being. in this context, it should be noted that by using religious, mystical and philosophical foundations, integrating these foundations and presenting a comprehensive and harmonious picture of human truth, sadr al-mutalahin has been able to present a comprehensive system of cognitive foundations whose accurate and comprehensive analysis
can yield valuable results. the combination of mysticism, sharia and proof is one of the most important features of mulla sadra's philosophical thought, which is effective in all the accepted components of human nature .
