In this work, firstly, the adsorption of methylmercaptan and methylamine molecules individually or in pairs on the surface of silicon carbide nanotubes has been studied. For this purpose, the interaction of desired molecules from the direction of active atoms with different parts of silicon carbide nanotubes was studied. To study these processes, computational chemistry methods by Gaussian 09 software and m06/6-311g(d) level of theorety have been used. The initial structure of compounds was designed by GaussView software and all structures were optimized in terms of energy. Adsorption energy, thermodynamic parameters, potential energy and density of states diagram for adsorption processes were studied. Also, some important bond lengths and angles in the absorption process were investigated. The results showed that the methylmercaptan molecule from the sulfur atom and the methylamine molecule from the nitrogen atom have been adsorbed on the carbon and silicon atoms of the silicon carbide nanotube, and the investigation of the thermodynamic parameters indicates that the absorption processes are spontaneous.
