Man-e- Ou is the most popular novel of Reza Amirkhani which has never been studied from a semiotic point of view. In this article we have tried to analyze this novel with a look at Barthes's theory of narrative codes in S/Z. in order to do this, we have selected some lexias by excerpt reading method and analyzed them, then interpreted the resulting codes from an ideological point of view based on the notions of Eagleton and Macherey. the results of this study shows that the writer by emphasizing on some beliefs such as "absolutism", "anti-scientism", "fatalism" and "originalism" and reproducing them in the novel tries to ignore social and class conflicts. In other words, Amirkhani by "absolutism" ignores other thoughts, and with use of "anti-scientism", "fatalism" brings metaphysical explanations for physical events. He also considers "Tehranian Origin", as a privilege for the hero of the story which can help him to achieve his goals. However, in order to achieve this goal, the novel Inevitably suffers from a set of internal contradictions and the attempts of the writer to resolve these contradictions just have exacerbated them.
