CALL FaOR' PAPERS Practical and Theoretical Relationships between the Shari'ah and Social Sciences Herndon, Virginia October 23-27, 1996 A seminar will be cosponsored by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) and the School of Islamic and Social Sciences (SISS) and held at HIT, located at 555 Grove Street, Herndon, Virginia.
This seminar will study and elaborate upon the relationship between the Shari'ah and the social sciences in the light of present circumstances as well as the gulf that has emerged between the two, a gulf that has caused a duality leading to two disparate paradigms of knowledge, society, and culture within Islamic society itself.
Papers the research leading to the conference will appear in the Second Activity of I PIPE: International Journal, Journal ff Islamic Political Economy.
