Abstract:
The transmission of literary works is sometimes in the domain of words and topics, and sometimes
in the domain of images and different forms of expression and emotions. The story of the scorpion
and the turtle, which is narrated in Kalila and Demaneh Nasrallah Manshi, emphasizes on the bad
friend and the regret of choosing a bad friend. Ostad Hajjar translated this story but made some
changes in it, this article is based on analytical-descriptive method. And with a comparative
approach, he has expressed the similarities and differences of these two stories and has made it
clear that both of them have used the element of dialogue and the place and time of verbs, but they
have differences that can be pointed to Professor Hejjar. It mentions that one day a scorpion fell
into the water and was unable to do so, as if it had been suffocated, the blue turtle felt sorry for
him and wanted to save him from dying, but Nasrullah Manshi states that it was a turtle that lived
with a scorpion in close proximity to each other. they did The two of them were used to each other.
One day, something happened in their place of residence and it put their lives in danger. They had
to move to another place. In the story of Kalila and Demeneh, it is mentioned that the scorpion
said, "What are you doing stinging me now in the middle of this water?" The turtle said, "You are
so cruel and unfair, you are stinging me." The story of Ostad Hejhar also tells that when he put the
scorpion turtle on his coat, the scorpion took the opportunity and said: You saved me from death,
I am grateful to you until I die, he stretched out his tail and put it in his hands, like That he wanted
to thank him and express his feelings. He bit him. Both of them differ in their conclusion, in
Nasrallah Manshi's story, it is mentioned that when the turtle heard the words of the scorpion and
threw him into the water, he said: No matter how good I am to you, your nature is still wild. . I
don't want to be friends with you. Being alone is better than having a friend like you. And their
friendship broke up, but Master Hajhar says that the scorpion stung him and when the turtle died,
he said: Why did I act as a man against the unmanly? So their conclusions are different. Master
Hae Jar gave the turtle and the scorpion human qualities, and they shook hands (he extended his
tail and put it in his hands, as if he wanted to thank him and express his feelings), as soon as he
shook the turtle's hand He stung him with the scorpion's tail. In Kalila and Demaneh, it is not
mentioned that the scorpion stung him, it is only mentioned that he wanted to be stung, but in the
story of Master Hajar, the scorpion stung him and died. The two stories show that an important
criterion that should be taken into account when choosing a friend is his level of knowledge and
awareness, intellect and thought. A knowledgeable and wise friend is a source of happiness and
prosperity, and an ignorant and weak-minded friend will cause discomfort and suffering. Because
a wise friend, with his knowledge and intelligence, and the awareness and knowledge he has,
considers all aspects of the work in doing his actions, which not only does not create problems for
himself, his relatives and friends, but also solves the existing problems. . But an ignorant friend
with little knowledge and lack of planning and foresight and not using reason and thought properly
not only does not have the power to remove problems in life, but with his stupidity creates obstacles
for himself and his friends in the path of life progress.
