Abstract:
One of the serious challenges of divorced women is remarriage. This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the challenges of these people in their second marriage. The study method was qualitative and phenomenological. The data collection tool in this research is a semi-structured interview. To create theoretical sensitivity, some theories such as role theory, systems theory, gender theory, exchange theory, social ecology model, life course model, stress models, logics of parent (step) participation, parenting style (stepmother) models and choice model. were investigated. Among the target population, 21 women with second marriages were interviewed with targeted sampling in terms of qualitative diversity. The research findings show that women have a high desire for a second marriage. However, this action of theirs faces various challenges. According to the analysis of the interviews, four main categories were identified, which are: 1) challenges of spouses together, 2) challenges of spouses with children, 3) challenges related to the spouse's family, and 4) challenges of raising children together. Sub-categories such as difference in priorities, alienation of children, rejection and intimacy, stigma of women being fathers, challenges with children who are unequal in terms of age, challenges with children who are equal in terms of age, lack of financial support, deception of imposing children, one-sided stories about children , envy and contempt and .... are among the sub-categories of this main topic. Evidence shows that many of these challenges are rooted in the past and pessimism caused by failure in the first marriage.
