"و لم یکن القمر أثناء ظهوره لنا حبیسا فی نطاق محدود،بل هو سائر فی مجراه،و قدره الله متنقلا فی منازل‌ کما أن الشمس کذلک لیست حبیسهة،بل هما یتعاقبان،و لا یدرک أحدهما الآخر «لا الشمس ینبغی لها أن تدرک القمر، و لا اللیل سابق النهار و کل فی فلک یسبحون» و إنما ذکر عن القمر دون الشمس أن الله‌ قدر له منازل،لیفیدنا أن القمر مع سرعته‌ بالنسبة للشمس لیس مندفعا فی انطلاقه، بل هو سیر رتیب و نظام مقدر. و انظر تجد أن آیة الشمس و القمر ختمت‌ بقوله تعالی:«لآیات لقوم یعلمون»و أن‌ آیة اللیل و النهار و اختلافها طولا،و قصرا و تعاقب کل منهما للآخر:ختمت بقوله: «لآیات لقوم یتقون»و فی ذکر العلم أولا، و التقوی-ثانیا-توجیه بین:إلی أن العلم‌ مرموق،و مطلوب و أنه سبیل إلی التقوی‌ عن بینة،و فهم،و حسن تقدیر،فتقوی‌ العالم تکون أصح،و أزکی من تقوی الجاهل‌ و من خلال هذا ندرک أن الإشادة بالشمس‌ و القمر،و الضوء و النور..."
