"Unlike Iran's strategy and policy towards other Middle Eastern countries such as that of Saudi Arabia which is mainly based on ideological and political rivalries, here relations with Turkey are mainly based on mutual economic-strategic needs on issues of common interests such as energy security, economic exchanges and political supports.
Apparently, it seems that Iran and Turkey have different points of view regarding the Arab Spring or basically what is happening in Syria, but my argument is that in the long term, both countries will face with common challenges arising from the condition which is going on in the region.
Now, in the political situation in the Middle East, it seems that we have Turkey and Iran having different points of view about the Arab Spring or what is going on in Syria.
While it seems that Iran and Turkey have different points of view regarding the present situation in Syria, in the future, and in the long term, both of them are facing the same problem which is the prospects of extremist salafism and confessionalism in the Middle East.
And how is it possible for us to have 'collective security' between regional countries like Iran, Turkey, Iraq and Syria so that we have collective defense and coalition, and cooperate with each other without interference of the outside powers like the United States?
First, we have talked about the importance and necessity of cooperation between Iran and Turkey and that how significant it for establishing peace and security in the region and concurrently for the fate of economic growth and sustainable development of the two countries."
