چکیده:
سابقه و هدف: بیماری صرع، شایعترین اختلال نورولوژیک اطفال است که نیاز به درمان طولانی مدت دارویی دارد. برخی مطالعات، افزایش خطر ابتلا به افسردگی را در کودکان و نوجوانان مبتلا به صرع نشان داده است. کودکان و نوجوانان مبتلا، مشکلات هیجانی و رفتاری بیشتری را در مقایسه با کودکان و نوجوانان سالم و افراد مبتلا به سایر بیماری های مزمن تجربه می نمایند. هدف از این مطالعه، بررسی میزان شیوع افسردگی و برخی عوامل خطر مرتبط با آن در این بیماران بوده تا ضرورت توجه به بیماری افسردگی و درمان به موقع آن، مورد تاکید قرار گیرد.
مواد و روش ها: در این مطالعه ی توصیفی، 70 بیمار مبتلا به صرع که به درمانگاه فوق تخصصی مغز و اعصاب کودکان بیمارستان مفید دانشگاه علوم پزشکی شهید بهشتی مراجعه کرده بودند، از نظر ابتلا به افسردگی توسط پرسشنامه ی افسردگی کودکان و نوجوانان و پرسشنامه ی دموگرافیک، مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفتند.
یافته ها: 7/85% از بیماران مبتلا به صرع، بر اساس تست افسردگی کودکان و نوجوانان، مبتلا به افسردگی بودند. بیشتر بیماران، مبتلا به افسردگی خفیف و یا متوسط بودند.
نتیجه گیری: نتایج حاصله از این پژوهش، نشان دهنده ی بالا بودن میزان علایم افسردگی در بیماران مبتلا به صرع است. از آنجا که افسردگی قابل درمان است، غربالگری و تشخیص به موقع افسردگی در افراد مبتلا، پیشنهاد می گردد.
Background and Aim: Epilepsy is among the most common pediatric neurological disorders in need of long-term medication treatment. Some studies also show increased risk of depression among children and adolescents with epilepsy. Epileptic children and adolescents experience more emotional and behavioral problems than healthy children and adolescents or others who are suffering from other chronic diseases. The aim of the present study is to investigate the depression rate and its related risk factors in children with epilepsy.
Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study 70 children with epilepsy who were referred to neurological clinic in Mofid Hospital of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences were selected. The measurement tools were demographic questionnaire، children and adolescent depression test، which has been designed for Iranian society.
Results: In the present study 85.7% of epileptic patients were depressed (mild to moderate).
Conclusion: The results of this study indicated there is a very high rate of depression in these children with epilepsy. According to treatable nature of depression، early screening and diagnosing of depression were suggested.
