Doctrine of Ba'dā’(Appearance) has always been introduced as a distinct belief
in the Shii'te theology. This doctrinal belief, described as the highest level of
knowledge and servitude to God in Shii'te hadiths and) explained in various ways in
history of Shiite kalām, came under severe attacks against Shia by those who failed
to understand the truth of Ba'dā.
The present article is an attempt to discover reality of Ba'dā in Quran and
exegetical as well as independent hadiths with respect to rational approach and
various views. This research has been conducted in the field of traditional theology
based on the synthetic authority of reason and revelation -a field that needs
systematic ,comprehensive and profound analysis. Ba'dā doctrine in this attitude put
emphasis on the activity and predomination of God's providence on the world which
is a fact against sign (maintenance of providence). In other words, Ba'dā is God's
providence for changing and obliterating other Providence, and an upper
determination or dominant rule that "Obliteration and Affirmation Tablet" is called.
then, Ba'dā not only does not contradict God's infinite knowledge, but also will not
cause any changes or contingency in divine nature.
