Purpose: Previous investigations have indicated that there
is a relationship between Relationship Beliefs and Couple
Burnout, but there isn't enough study about relationship
between alexithymia with couple burnout. So, this study
aimed to examine the Relationship between Relationship
Beliefs and Alexithymia with Couple Burnout Women
referred to health centers in Varamin in 2016 (1395s.c).
Method: The present study was a descriptive correlational
study. The sample consists of 85 women referred to health
center in Varamin who were selected by available
sampling. All participants were asked to complete the
Coupe Brownout Measurements, Relationship Beliefs
Inventory (RBI) and Toronto alexithymia scale (TAS-20).
Analysis of the data involved both descriptive and
inferential statistics including frequency, means, standard
deviations, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple
regressions. Findings: The analysis of the data showed
that subscales of relationship beliefs scale including:
“disagreement is destructive", "partner cannot change"
and " the sexes are different" has a significant positive
relationship with couple burnout. Also, results revealed
that alexithymia, subscales of Difficulty in identifying
feelings and Difficulty describing feelings has a
significant positive relationship with couple burnout. The
results of multiple regression showed that alexithymia,
Objective cognitive style, subscales of partner cannot
change and disagreement is destructive were respectively
significant predictors of couple burnout. Conclusion:
Basis on the results of the present study, it can be
concluded that couple burnout is influenced by
relationship beliefs and alexithymia.
