Background and aim: In recent years, high-risk behaviors among adolescentshave grown significantly. In order to identify some of the psychological factorsassociated with these behaviors, the present study was designed and implemented. The main objective of the present research is to determine the contribution ofcognitive emotion regulation components to high-risk behaviors.Methodology: The type of study and the method of investigation are correlationand multiple regressions. The statistical population of the study is 209,144 highschool girl students in Tehran. A sample of 422 people was selected by multistagecluster sampling method and Critical Settlement Questionnaire distributed amongZadeh Mohammadi and Ahmad Abadi adolescents.Findings: Data analysis with multiple regression method showed that theoverall model and the combination of predictor variables explained 13% of thevariance of risky behaviors. In the general model, emotional adjustment cognitivedimensions were a significant predictor of high-risk behaviors. The negativecognitive adjustment beta coefficient was higher than the positive cognitiveadjustment coefficient. In terms of dimensions, blame and disaster, negativecognitive regression, and the dimensions of positive re-focus and acceptance ofpositive cognitive regulation, also predicted significant risk factors for femaleadolescents (high school students). Results: The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationshipbetween cognitive-emotional regulation and risk-orientation.
