The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze the foreign policy and political behavior of the United States towards Iran, focusing on human rights positions since 2000. In this study, the authors use an explanatory-analytical approach (using library and Internet data collection methods) to answer the question of what is the nature of human rights positions and political behavior of the United States towards Iran since the 2000s? answering this question, the research hypothesis is that the human rights positions of the United States towards Iran since 2000 are mainly a function of realistic goals and policies, fundamentalist and utilitarian power within the principles and components of pragmatism, slogans, and discourses. its human rights are mainly instrumental, propaganda and tactical aspects to conceal these esoteric goals. Findings of the study indicate that there is a serious gap between the ostensible human rights discourse in the country from theory and political behavior and foreign policy perspectives. The selective use of human rights by the United States against Iran and disregarding of the human rights problems of the violators, especially Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime, largely confirm the pragmatic orientations of the US. In this sense, the United States has sought to consolidate its hegemony and political leadership in the world since the collapse of the Soviet Union and to consolidate its hegemony over the neoliberal world economy.
