Due to the pervasive use of the Internet and the neglect of the psychological consequences,
construction and standardization of self-control Internet use questionnaire were considered. According to this, in a survey study, the 434 students (226 boys and 208girls), secondary school students from Kish Island who were studying in the 1394-1395 school year selected by using a convenience sampling method and evaluated by Self-Control of Internet Use questionnaire, which included 36 final questions and based on the theoretical background, and a questionnaire of diagnostic criteria for Internet addiction (to assess the divergent validity of the questionnaire). The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis of first order and second order showed that the questionnaire has three subscales of internal control, avoidance of harm and external control that these three factors all together explained
43% of the total variance which these findings indicates this questionnaire is valid. The reliability of the questionnaire measured through subscales correlation with the total score (p=0/01) and calculation of Cronbach alpha that results showed that this questionnaire is reliable. Discussion of the findings of the self-control Internet use questionnaire showed that this questionnaire has the appropriate and correlated underlying factors for measuring adolescent self-control for using the Internet. Also, this questionnaire has a largely high reliability coefficient. Therefore, this questionnaire can be used to assess the ability of adolescent self-control to use the Internet in future research
