چکیده:
Purpose: News media play an important role in attitude towards various issues including hijab and hijab discovery. As a result, the purpose of this research was comparative review of hijab discovery news coverage in news media.
Methodology: This study in terms of purpose was applied and in terms of implementation method was quantitative. The research population was the hijab discovery news in news media of Entekhab (reformist), Fars (fundamentalist), Online News (moderation), Persian BBC (British affiliated) and Voice of America (USA affiliated) in 2017 and 2018 years, which were selected by census sampling method. The research tool was observation and recording the hijab discovery news in the Persian news media of Persian section of foreign news media that the formal validity of the information was confirmed by experts and its reliability was estimated by the coefficient of agreement between the two coders 0.89. Finally, the data were analyzed by non-parametric test of chi-square in SPSS-20 software.
Findings: The findings showed that there was a significant difference between the media of Entekhab, Fars, Online News, Persian BBC and Voice of America in terms of the amount of news, news style, news value, news source, news bias and type of news (p0.05). In the other words, in terms of amount of news the hijab discovery the media of Fars, Online News, Persian BBC, Entekhab and Voice of America expressed the most news, respectively. In terms of news style the media of Entekhab, Fars, Online News and Voice of America more used than the style of news and the media of Persian BBC more used than the style of report. Also, in terms of news value the media of Entekhab, Persian BBC and the Voice of America used more than the value of feedback, media of Fars used more than value of proximity and media of Online News used more than two values of collision and reputation. In terms of the news source the media of Entekhab and Fars used more than the source of media reporter, media of Online News used more than the source of internal news agencies and media of Persian BBC and Voice of American used more than an unknown source. In addition, in terms of news bias the media of Entekhab, Fars and Online News used more than event conviction bias, media of Persian BBC used more than neutral bias and media of Voice of America used more than empathy and support from event bias. In terms of type of news the media of Entekhab, Fars and Voice of America used more than a type of event-oriented and media of Online News and Persian BBC used more than a type of process-oriented. In contrast, in terms of titre type the five media of Entekhab, Fars, Online News, Persian BBC and Voice of America used more than inferential titre and there was no significant difference between them.
Conclusion: The results showed that the news media of Persian BBC and Voice of American had a more positive look at the phenomenon of hijab discovery and reported news from unknown news sources. The results indicated the damage of mentioned news media for families through the phenomenon of hijab discovery.
