AbstractThe expansion of relations with the Western world in the nineteenth century made Iranian elites and thinkers aware of the traditional structure of the country as well as its technical and scientific backwardness. At first, they tried to identify the causes and factors of the backwardness of the Iranian society with a critical approach to the current situation. Majdalmolk Sinki was one of the thinkers of the Qajar and Nasserite eras who is known as one of the pioneers in this field by writing the treatise Kashf al-Gharib. Therefore, the present article seeks to answer the question by using a descriptive-analytical method, what was the approach of Majdalmolk's critical discourse to the political structure of Nasserite Iran in the treatise Kashf al-Gharib? And what effect did it have on the Iranian modernization movement? The findings of this study show that Majdalmolk Sinki, with his knowledge of the formation of the modern nation-state in the West, wanted a change in the political structure of Iran. He criticized the pathology of Iran's political structure for reasons such as the incompetence of government officials and officials, the weakness of the king and the monarchy, the inactivity and inefficiency of the influential intelligentsia involved in politics, and most importantly the lack of law in various parts of the country. Thus, it should be said that Sinki, with this reformist effort, played an important role in the Chinese context and the bedrock of the Iranian modernization movement in the constitutional era.
