After a period of 20 years, the results of these actions are the increased influence of the Saudis in Pakistan, relentless savagery against Shi'ism, and killing of Iranian diplomats in that country in addition to major assaults on the national and cultural interests oflran in Afghanistan.
A vast land area, rich resources and strategic location impart to Iran a special standing in political calculations and greater scope to attain a genuine position as a regional power as compared with other countries, like Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
