a most distinguished and varied career in that service, culminating in the officiating Premiership of Hyderabad.
His chief devotion was to education, and cultural activities of all kinds received his active interest and support ..
His contributions to the cause of educational progress and consolidation will always be remembered, and "Islamic Culture" (like so many other similar efforts and institutions in and outside the State) will always be grateful to him for the guidance and help it received from him.
A man of wide culture and deep learning, he continued throughout his life to combine the pursuit of scholarship with the heavy demands of his many official duties.
Simple, straight and unostentatious, he was noted for his wit and incisive observation.
By his death, Hyderabad has lost an elder statesman and culture an ardent devotee.
We offer to his relatives and friends our heartfelt sympathy and count ourselves among the chief mourners of the loss.
