As a recently developed theory, the theory of “Tasrif” (inflection)means making new words, verses and chapters from the Qur’anic words, verses and chapters through changing the singlewords and combinations of the Holy Qur’an. This theory claims that the frequent occurrence ofthese interferencesand changes in the Holy Qur’an is necessary to understand the language ofthe Qur’an. It is also claimed that the companions of the Holy Prophet always interfered in theverses of the Holy Qur’an, and the Holy Prophet, relying on the principle of the revelation ofthe Qur’an on “seven letters”, approved and praised any reading by the Companions.Aimingat evaluating this theory and havingcollected the documents of this theory and validated eachof them, the present study has reached the conclusion that this theory stems from misplacedtrust in some Sunni weak narrations, misconceptions and extensive interpretations of narrationsand historical reports. This theoryis based on the theory of development and tolerance inthe Qur’anic text founded by the second caliph.
