In his novels, Michel Tournier, a French writer (1924-1916), uses myths and mythological symbols. His review has a particular objective, which expresses his philosophical and historical ideas and depicts the condition of a man living in a turbulent and chaotic world. The present study tries to deal with one of these re-readings, which takes place in the novel Friday or Pacific Limbo. The novel gives a review of the Robinson myth, taken from Daniel Defoe's novel. The purpose of this study is to show the influence of the writer's worldview on the myth and examine how it appears in this novel and what its differences are, despite the formal similarities with the original novel. The research begins with an introduction to the definition of myth and its importance in Tournier's work. Next, the main aspects of the myth in the novel, as well as its relationship to the author's worldview, are discussed. The approach used in this research is an analytical approach based on the concept of myth and its place in modern thought. The results show that Tournier's viewpoint, as a post-modern writer, gives Robinson's myth a profound, philosophical, and multidimensional aspect, very different from the one-dimensional and chronological aspect of Defoe's novel. The mythical universe that Tournier creates in his novel allows him to express issues related to the situation of the modern man, particularly his loneliness and his relationship with others.
