Abstract:
Mahboobeh Arab Baferani'AbstractThis article investigates the aims and strategies of Iran's gasexportation. The author argues that the first and foremost reason for adapting this strategy is the globalization of economy in the world. Today, the most significant component in the globalization particularly in its economic arena is the issue of competition. This process with its inherent complexity and universality has imposed many countries with several requirements. As a result, developed and developing countries have to followthese requirements, inevitably, to contribute in such processes. The best path for developing countries in order to enhance their economic competitive roles in the global area is use of their comparative advantages. In this regard, Iran shows its relative potential advantage with its 27/45 trillion m3 natural gas reserves, positioned it considerably at the second universal rank. The second reason for Iran's gas exportation strategy relates to developments of energy section. The demand for natural gas will increase by 2'Yo annually during the next years. Therefore, Iran, with its vast gas reserves will be able to meet partial increasing needs through its contribution in the global energy markets. The author will also review the most important potential markets for gas export.

Iran may play an effective role in production market and gas export and can be an effective agent in the world gas market field by use of this comparative advantage, with respect to the factors such as integration necessity to the world trade and step to the universal energy markets, policies for getting free from single-oil• production economy, economic development, and finally gas sale necessity on the one hand and substitution policy for gas instead ofothcr fossil fuels such as oil and coal on the other hand resulted in increasing needs to Iranian gas in the industrial developed countries in the near future.
