Abstract:
Today, social networking as a form of social media has an everlasting
presence in human social life. In a way that affects different domains of
life from politics to culture. But it should be noted that these emerging
technologies have many features and, at the same time, many flawshuman life. Following the advent of the Jewish religion, followed by
Christianity, from the sixteenth century, a branch of the religion of Jesus
Christ, known as Protestantism, with a particular Jewish tendency,
came to an end. Among the beliefs of this religious movement, labor
and hard work have been valued as worship. Over the centuries, this
branch of Christianity, dominated by economic resources, as well as
by the mass media, is the creator of the realization of the idea of Armageddon;
that is, the battle leading to the advent of Christ and the end of
the apocalypse! The Book “Media Interaction and Protestantism 1950-
2012” attempts to explain this religious phenomenon and its way of life
from the beginning of the history of the emergence of Christianity, its
split from the body of Catholic religion, and its social and political consequences;
especially as the hostile endeavors in the context of media
communication and Religious propaganda. Base of the critique of this
book, beyond the historical analysis and critique, is the review of three
synthetic terms, including religious propaganda, religious media and
media-like religion, . Although the author has tried to use the authoritative
sources to explain this historical process and has referred to them
reluctantly, but the credit of the book as a source of research on Protestantism
has diminished because of some controversy in the process of
discussion, the turmoil and shortcomings in the method of referral and
source-writing.
