The present research deals with an ancient text known
as ‘Ijl bin Haf’am’s Text, it was written on a tombstone over
two thousand years ago, at Qariat Al-Fau southwest of Riyadh
at Saudi Arabia, using Musnad in a close proximity to the
standard Arabic. The text represents an essential stage in the
development of the early classical Arabic. As Al is used for
definition, Arabic words came to convey a clearer concept
although they didn’t always have the same semantics found
in our linguistic heritage. The research presented views regarding
the meanings of the words and the way it is read, contrary
to previous readings of its vocabulary by scholars since the
time it was found. This research tries to offer a new reading
to many parts of the text that will be a complementary to the
previous readings.
