Abstract:
The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of positive treatment with compassion-focused therapy on self-esteem, well-being, responsibility and self-care of breast cancer patients. The participants in this study were 45 women with breast cancer in Shohada Hospital in Tajrish, who were randomly divided into 3 groups of 15 people (first experimental group, second experiment and control). The second experimental group underwent positive treatment in 10 – 60 minute sessions over a period of 35 days. In the meantime, the control group did not receive any intervention. The data were analyzed using multivariate and univariate variance analysis tests. the findings showed that there was no significant difference between the effectiveness of positive therapy and compassion-focused therapy on psychological well-being. There is a significant difference between the effectiveness of positive therapy and compassion-focused therapy on self-worth. There is no significant difference between the effectiveness of positive therapy and compassion-focused therapy. There is a significant difference between the mean of post-test self-care scores between the three groups. Therefore, it was suggested that positive group therapy interventions as well as compassion along with occupational therapy be given more attention. At the same time, the use of experienced and experienced trainers in this type of training areas should be considered as interventions.
