Abstract:
Many principles of human rights are derived from religion and religious teachings, and the lack
of consensus in some issues that are introduced as human rights by the secular liberal spectrum
should not lead to the conclusion that religions reject the entire concept of human rights. In this
article it has been confirmed that many values of human rights, forty of which have been
mentioned in this research, are approved by religions and Islam, let alone that human rights root
from religions. The difference between the views of Islam and the West on the origin and purpose
of human rights (to be divine or natural) and the quality of some rights should not cause religious
people to reject all human rights and should not also let human rights activists to say religions and
human rights are not compatible, Therefore, a review of the Imam Hussain’ literature (a.s.) shows
that he gives priority to human rights as divine gifts ti the humanity, regardless of race, color,
skin, and religion, etc and the Ashura uprising is also a religious movement in line with promotion
and protection of human rights, and to reject the dehumanised actions.
