Abstract:
In an increasingly globalized world, where communication and foreign languages are
more important than they were a few years ago, there is a need to adapt. Today, the English
language is the language of global communication (Renau, 2016). Among four English
language skills, Writing is important, because it is commonly used in higher education and at
work. It is not possible for students to connect well with their professors, employers, peers or
everyone else if they do not know how to express themselves in writing. In writing, many
professional communications are carried out (Walsh, 2010). Some kind of technology is used
in every language class. improvement in the language learning process have been made
possible through technology. It helps teachers adjust their classroom activities so that
language learning can be enhanced. (Ahmadi, 2018).Computer-Assisted Language Learning
(CALL) is playing an important role in teaching English language to English as a Foreign
Language (EFL) students (Alhujaylan, 2019). This study investigated the effect of CALL on
EFL students’ writing fluency. To this end, thirty EFL female students were randomly
selected to participate in this study. First, an Oxford Placement Test (OPT) has been
administered to these students, in which twenty homogenous learners at intermediate level
comprised the research sample. Afterwards, the participants were divided into experimental
(n=10) and control group (n=10), each with a different teaching system. In order to assess
their writing ability on the basis of fluency, a narrative task was performed. Finally, two raters
scored the students’productions. t-test was used to analyze the data. The results of the study
showed that CALL considerably affects writing fluency and the experimental group
performed better than the control group
