Abstract:
In its most basic form, the classroom serves as a multifaceted space that provides insight into the developments, transformations, and generally what is happening in universities. The aim of this study is to describe the experiences of female undergraduate sociology students attending university classes. By utilizing the qualitative description approach, this research examined a group of 20 students who were selected through purposeful sampling. Data was collected through semi-structured face-to-face and online interviews conducted at the end of the coronavirus pandemic and subsequently analyzed using the thematic analysis technique. Based on the data analysis, two main themes "marginalization of learning" and "marginalization of scientific interactions" and six sub-themes were obtained. The findings of the research showed that the university classroom is far from ideal classrooms and due to the changes that have taken place in the university system and society, its meaning, concept, and functions as an educational and social space have become challenging. This requires serious attention to changes in the tastes, habits, and actions of students and professors and the use of more diverse methods with the aim of improving student learning and increasing the efficiency of higher education.
