Abstract:
The novel is the result of the modernization of societies and can reflect the state of the society well. This research has tried to analyze the social position of women in the society before the revolution by sociologically criticizing the novels Suvashun (1969), Wander Island (Jazire –ye- Sargardani)(1993) and Wandering Cameleer (Sarban-e Sargardan) (2001)by Simin Daneshvar, who is considered the first female novelist and one of the most prominent contemporary novelists. To achieve this goal, from the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu, a French sociologist, philosopher, anthropologist, and critic who looks at capital not only in the economic field, but also from other angles such as cultural, social, and symbolic capital, we examine and analyze the components capitals in female characters in each story with a comparative approach. Then, by comparing the way and how women activists of the stories enjoy these capitals, we explore the amount of production, reproduction and evolution of all capital kinds of female characters in the society.According to the findings of this research, women have not been very successful in having all kinds of capital. Only "Zari" and "Hasti", the main activists of the stories, are considered distinct examples in this regard. In addition, both represent ideal women in their society; "Hasti", which is about three decades later than "Zari", has more tangible cultural and social capitals and has appeared more dynamic in acquiring economic capital.
