"اینک در این شماره، مهاجرت علمای شیعه لبنان به ایران در عصر صفوی را مورد بررسی قرار می‌دهیم: مهاجرت کاروان دانشوران به ایران با توسعه استیلای صفویه از جانب شمال غربی ایران به سوی مرکز این سرزمین و حتی چند صباحی تا عراق، آرای افراطی شیعی رایج در میان افراد قبایل ترکمنی که سپاهیان آنان را تشکیل می‌دادند، به صورت منشأ تهدید و مخاطره‌ای بالقوه برای این خاندان که ناگزیر بود دست به دامان مردم شهرهای ایران و خصوصا آنانی که سنت اسلامی نیرومندی داشتند بشود، درآمد. آنان شناختی از شریعت نداشتند و تحت لوای طریقت، روشی منحرف را در میان مردم شایع می‌کردند آنچه در برابر این وضع می‌بایست صورت می‌گرفت، انتقال درست مفاهیم دینی و ترویج شریعت در میان افراد جامعه بود، این مسایل سبب گردید تا علمای شیعه از مناطقی چون جبل عامل، بحرین و عراق فرا خوانده شوند و در میان این کاروان علم و معرفت، دانشوران شیعی جبل عامل نقش مهمی را بر عهده گرفتند و موفق شدند با زدودن رنگ و زنگ انحراف از جامعه، شریعت و فرهنگ راستین شیعه را، در بین مردم رواج دهند و علمای ایرانی را برای این منظور تقویت کنند یا تربیت نمایند(2). محمد در زادگاهش)جبع( زندگی کرد و کتاب »مدار الأحکام« را در شرح »شرایع الإسلام« محقق نگاشت، فرزندش حسین نزد پدر تحصیل کرد و سپس به ایران آمد و در محضر شیخ بهایی به تحصیلات خود ادامه داد وی در خراسان اقامت گزید و شیخ الإسلام مشهد شد و در مقام شریف زیر گنبد بزرگ شرقی مرقد امام رضاعلیه السلام به تدریس پرداخت(20)."
