Thenotionofindividual’sroleisconsideredastheba-sisformajorchangesinthewaypublicspeakingisconceptualizedandpracticed.Thepoliticalspeechisanattemptaimedatprovidingthehearerswithreasonstothinkandreacttocertainand/oruncertainconditions.Oneoftheimportantfeaturesofthepoliticalargumentisthatthepoliticalissuesdonotmerelyconfirmorcontradicttherealitybuttheyenterandcometoshapeit.Apoliticalfactormustknowhowtoenhancehisdomainoflexicalknowledgeandsyntacticskillowingtoputtheimpressiveinfluenceontheaudience.Thisstudyexaminedtheuseofstyle,intertextuality,andrhetoricalfeaturesinthepoliticaldiscourse.TheanalysisofmodalityshowedthatpresidentTrumpusedmoremodalitiescomparingtohiscounterpart.Intertextualityanalysisconfirmedthatthespeechesfromtwopresidentswereeasytounder-standandtheywerenotbasedupontheaudience’spreviousknowl-edge.Giventherhetoricalfeatures,bothpresidentsemployedrelativelyenoughparallelstructuresintheirspeechbutIranianpresidenttookupthehigherproportion.Theimplicationsandsuggestionsforfurtherresearchwerealsohighlighted
