Today, employment and improvement of the business environment are one of the main concerns of society.
Numerous studies have been conducted on the causes and factors affecting business and employment and their
results have been reported. The main purpose of this paper, which was based on a comprehensive review of
related theoretical and empirical literature and library resources, was to identify the causes and factors affecting
the change in unemployment and production rates using a research approach in published papers in this field.
The research method was qualitative content analysis and document analysis and the statistical population
consisted of research articles related to unemployment, business barriers and entrepreneurship. A total of 51
articles from 2001 to 1989 were selected using purposive sampling. Summary and original articles were
extracted from reputable scientific sites including Google Scholar, Civilica and SID. Keywords used in the
search were: business, employment, unemployment, employability, entrepreneurship, and work culture. The
results showed that factors affecting labor market and employment were discussed in three groups of cultural,
social and technical challenges, each of which was discussed with reference to relevant articles.
