چکیده:
قامت الدولة المملوكية على أنقاض الدولة الأيوبية في مصر ويلاد الشامء وقد ضمت
عدد كبير من الأجانب الإيطاليين الذين شكلوا جزءاً أساسياً من نسيجها الاجتماعي.
يرجع وجود الجاليات الأجنبية لا سيما الإيطالية في الدولة المملوكية إلى موقع الدولة
المملوكية على الجانب الآخر للبحر المتوسط »٠ والظروف الدولية ٠ وسياسة سلاطين
المماليك المتسامحة مع الإيطاليين وتقديم التسهيلات لهم.
وقد تنوعت الفئات الإيطالية في الدولة المملوكية إذ وجدت معظم شرائح المجتمع
الإيطالي حاجاتها في الدولة المملوكية.
لقد تمتع الإيطاليون في الدولة المملوكية بقدر كبير من الحرية ٠ بالرغم من بعض
القيود التي فرضت عليهم.
وقد فرضت الدولة المملوكية نظام ضريبي عادل على الجاليات الإيطاليةء أسهم في
زيادة تدفقهم للأراضي المملوكية.
The Mamluk state was built on the ruins of the Ayyubid state in
Egypt and the Levant, and it included a large number of Italian
foreigners who formed an essential part of the fabric of society.
